Bertha C. Jones, 89, 628 Cal­ifornia, died at 10:45 p.m. Tues­day at Bartholomew County Hospital after a three-month illness. She was a mem­ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a 30-year resi­dent of Columbus.

Funeral service will be conducted by Ernest Lykins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reed and Jewell Funeral Home, where persons may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County.

Mrs. Jones was born Jan. 6, 1889, in Metcalfe County, Ky. to Mr. and Mrs. Critt Gregory. She was married to Walter L. Jones who died.

Survivors include three daugh­ters, Hazel Skinner of 628 California, Eugenia Sanders of Chichester and Phyllis King of Salt Lake City, Utah, a sister, Gladys Sheffer of Indianapolis, six grandchildren, Sharon Wolfe, Louis Sanders, Mary Etta Dillow and David, Bernard and Stephen Camp­bell, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Ervin and two brothers, Claud and William Gregory.
