FAIRLAND William "Wayne" Johnson William "Wayne" Johnson, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at his residence in Fairland. He was born March 23, 1928, in Savoyard, Ky. His parents were Milie and Laura (Furguson) Johnson. He married Sandra "Kay" Baker in 1956 in Indian- apolis. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Jerry Johnson of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Laura Elmore and Janita Barger, both of Franklin; a brother, Dee Johnson of Glasgow, Ky.; a sister, Agnus Jeffries of Horse Cave, Ky.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Johnson; and two sisters, Lovie Jeffries and Florine Greer. He was employed by Richardson Rubber Co. as an inspector for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Mount Cal- vary Missionary Baptist Church in Acton. The Rev. Bobby D. Jewell will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to St. Francis Hospice.
