PAUL L. JOHNSON
Paul L. Johnson, 92, died Wednesday at Bartholomew County Hospital in Columbus. He was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Edinburgh.
He was born Aug. 18, 1898, in Bartholomew County. His parents were William N. Johnson and Dora (Kennedy) Johnson. He married Elda Stillabower Feb. 17, 1919. She died Aug. 17, 1970. He married Erma (Park) Edwards Jan. 20, 1973. She survives. Other survivors include two foster sons, Joe Titsworth and Carl Kabrich, both of Edinburgh; a stepson, Norman Edwards of Fort Myers, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Judy Vogel of Carmel and Betty Schaerges of Franklin, Mich.; a brother, the Rev. B. K. Johnson of Franklin; a sister, Dorothy Renner of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson.
He was a retired farmer. He also had worked as a self-employed trucker. For several years, he was a school bus driver for the Edinburgh School Corp.
He was a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church and a 70-year member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge.
The Rev. Allan K. Wilson will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Edinburgh Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edinburgh United Methodist Church.
