Emerson, the son of R. M. Johnson and wife, died Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the hospital in Washington D. C. He had been sick for some time from tumor of the stomach and was taken to the hospital for treatment. A surgical operation was performed as a last resort, but resulted fatally.
Deceased was born and raised in Franklin when the parents resided here and was an only son, his age 24 years. He spent several weeks last fall in Franklin. The remains were brought to this city for burial. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall.
