Death of Robert Jennings.
Robert Jennings, one of the oldest and best citizens of Johnson county, died Saturday evening at 4 o’clock at his home in Greenwood, after a brief illness from pneumonia.
He, for many years resided in White River township, and was elected county commissioner in 1877, serving the county both with credit to himself and to his constituents.
Deceased was a man of great popularity and the news of his death was received with deep regret by numerous friends.
He leaves a wife and three children, being, J. W. Jennings of Greenwood; Robert Jennings, living on the homestead in White River township, and Mrs. Maggie Lyons also of White River township. One daughter is dead.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon and the remains placed in the vault at Greenwood to await interment at Glenn’s Valley.
