Mrs. Lucy Jeffold [sic], a native of Kentucky, but who came to Edinburg when it consisted of two or three log cabins, died early last Friday morning of age and decrepitude at the age of eighty-two. She was universally respected and is mourned by a large circle of friends and neighbors. Her immediate family consists of four daughters, Mrs. William L. Rickets, of Texas; Mrs. John A. Carvin, Mrs. Adam Mutz and Ada Compton of Edinburg. The funeral occurred Sunday at her home in that place, conducted by Elder M. Small.
