Thomas E. James received a telegram Sunday evening announcing the startling intelligence that his wife had suddenly died from heart failure at Logan, Ohio. Mr. James was preparing to move to that city in the near future, to reside permanently. His wife and daughter, Mrs. A. L. Woollen, have resided at Logan for nearly a year. Mrs. James had been in her usual health, and the news of her sudden death came as a great surprise to her friends here. Mr. James left for Logan on the 11:07 train Sunday evening.
Note: The Johnson County Indiana Marriage Index, 1882-1920, referencing Book 7, page 31, records that Annie [sic] C. James and Arthur Woollen married 31 Dec 1894.
The 1900 US Federal Census for Fishkill, Dutchess County, New York records that Thomas E. James, described as widowed father-in-law, is living in the household of Arthur L and Anna [James] Woollen.

Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013, referencing FHL microfilm 912320, records that Thomas E. James and Mary E. Murphy married on 22 May 1872 in Hocking County, Ohio.
The 1880 US Federal Census for Falls Township, Hocking County, Ohio records that 35-year-old Thos [sic] E. James and his wife, 32-year-old Lizzie [sic], have in their household their children, Anna and Fred.
