Hunsucker, 88, Columbus, former owner and operator of several restaurants here and at Edinburg, died yesterday in a local nursing home. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home, with burial in Garland Brook Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Harrison Hunsucker. Ill for six months, he was a veteran of the first world war. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home until 8 o’clock tonight and Tuesday until time of service. Hunsucker was born Oct. 7, 1888, in Kansas, to Edward and Liza Fleetwood Hunsucker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice. He then married the former Irene Harrison Baute Dec.11, 1957, and she survives. He had been a blacksmith in France during the first world war and also had served in the Philippines. During his early life, he had been a blacksmith and a farmer and prior to retirement had owned and operated several restaurants in the Columbus and Edinburg areas. Other survivors include a stepson, Jack Baute of Route 10; four grandchildren, Dennis Bill and Cindy Baute and Shelly Loudermilch, and six great-grandchildren.
