==============================
OBITUARY.
Mary Margaret Humphreys departed this life on the morning of April 9, 1896, aged 61 years, 3 months and 21 days. Her suffering the day and night before she was called away must have been intense, but she bore it with patience until suddenly the Lord called her away. She was married to John S. Humphreys, Jan. 28, 1868. The union was blessed with four daughters, three of whom survive. She had been a member of the Lutheran church the greater part of her life and was always known as a good Christian-hearted woman, always ready to give to the poor and needy. A husband and three daughters are left to mourn their loss, besides three sisters and four brothers. There is a vacancy, one more tie in heaven, one less on earth. No mother’s voice is heard speaking a warning word to children or a word to cheer the husband; no more will her form cross the threshold of your home. She cannot come to you but you may go to her; may this family be so guided and directed that they may form an unbroken family circle around the throne of God.
Her funeral was preached at home by Rev. Carter.
