Death of Louis Hulsman.
Louis A. Hulsman, one of the best known and most highly respected young men in Franklin, died Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at his home in this city. Until a few months ago Mr. Hulsman enjoyed uniformly good health. A malignant cancer which baffled the best medical skill of physicians not only here but of Indianapolis, Chicago and elsewhere, was the cause of his death.
Deceased was born in Edinburg, April 7, 1855. At ten years of age he made a trip to Europe with his father, after which his parents located in this city. He conducted a jewelry store here for eight years and became an expert optician. His skill being recognized, he was employed to travel for leading optical firms. Later he engaged in this specialty for himself and until compelled to cease work a few months ago, was meeting with the most flattering success. He at one time was a member of the Franklin Military Band.
In habits and social qualities he was a model young man and greatly respected by all.
His funeral will take place this afternoon under the auspices of Hesperian Lodge, K. of P. and conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall, of the Presbyterian church.
