W. T. Hougham, Jr., Killed.

W. T. Hougham, Jr., living east of this city in Needham township, was accidentally killed Wednesday evening by being run over by a team of horses. After the day’s work Mr. Houghman and his son, a young boy, prepared to go to the house for supper. Mr. Hougham started to walk to the house and the boy climbed into the wagon to drive the team to the barn. As he climbed in, and before he could get hold of the lines, the team started up and Mr. Hougham being immediately in front of them, the horses knocked him down and the wagon passed over his body breaking several ribs and crushing in his chest. He was lifted from the ground and carried to the house in an unconscious condition, and lived only a short time after reaching the house.

Mr. Hougham was very deaf and to this fact may be attributed the accident, as he did not hear the approaching team in time to avoid it.

Deceased was about fifty years of age and was quite well known in this county, having served as county surveyor two terms, being elected on the democrat ticket. He leaves a wife and several children. He was a son-in-law of Jas. L. Bradley.
