Mont Holdcroft
Montford Holdcroft, 98, retired farmer of the old Kansas neighborhood now in the Camp Atterbury area and Trafalgar, died Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. at Masonic Home Hospital in Franklin. Mr. Holdcroft had been at the home for three years.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Warren Robbins in charge. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 Wednesday.
Mr. Holdcroft was born in Johnson County September 25, 1880, the son of Isaiah and Allie Prichard Holdcroft. He married the former Edith Legan who died 23 years ago, after which he moved to Plainfield. Mr. Holdcroft was a 50 year member of the Nineveh Masonic Lodge and Plainfield Christian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Russell Holdcroft of Phoenix, Arizona, Ralph Holdcroft of Greenwood and Philip Holdcroft of Champaign, Illinois; seven daughters, Dorcas Todd, Gladys Gunkel and Ruby Houseman all of Edinburgh, Thelma Oaks of Indianapolis, Marcia Smith and Alice Lacont of Plainfield and Betty Brown of Cartersburg; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two children and two brothers preceded in death.
