JOHN HOGAN, DIES
John Hogan, retired farmer and railroadman, died at 5:30 a.m. today (Monday) at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital at the age of 67 years.
Mr. Hogan, who had spent his entire life in Johnson and Brown counties, had been ill about four months prior to his death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburg.
Born In County
Mr. Hogan was born in Johnson County Jan. 31, 1898. His parents were the late Albert and Mary Anderson Hogan. He was married to the former Zola E. Smith on May 3, 1920, in Nashville, Ind. Three sons were born to the couple, all of whom survive.
Mr. Hogan farmed until 1947 and then worked at the New York Central Railroad, at the Beech Grove shops until his retirement in May of 1963.
Survivors include the widow, three sons, four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. The sons are Kenneth H. Hogan, of Route 1, Franklin; Scott H. Hogan, of Route 1, Trafalgar; and Oris E. Hogan of Route 1, Bargersville.
The sisters are Mrs. Hesper Hamilton of Morgantown, and Mrs. Cleo Swift, of Franklin; Arthur Hogan, of Indianapolis, is the surviving brother.
