James S. Herod, son of Thomas Herod, died Saturday afternoon at the Whitesides hospital of typhoid pneumonia. He was taken sick Oct. 1, and was unable to attend the sale which he had arranged for October 6. Deceased was born in Boone County, Sept. 12, 1873, but had lived the greater part of his life in Johnson County. He leaves a wife and two children, a son and daughter. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist church and an industrious young man. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, from the residence of his father in south Franklin, conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan. Burial at Greenlawn.
