Two Greenwood area men die in separate traffic accidents
Two Greenwood area men were killed in separate traffic crashes in Johnson and Hendricks counties on Saturday, state police said.
Jack Lee Hart, 43, Greenwood route four, was fatally injured when his car collided with another auto and then struck a tree on the Morgantown Road.
James M. Anderson, 47, 191 Crestview, Greenwood, was killed in a two-car head on crash on U.S. 36 near Danville in Hendricks County. A 19-year-old girl was killed and two others injured in the accident.
The Johnson County accident which killed Hart occurred about 3 p.m. Saturday near the Johnson-Marion County line.
State police said Hart’s car sideswiped an auto driven by Janet C. Bridwell, 34, Greenwood route four, at a hill crest on Morgantown Road.
Hart’s car continued 135 feet and hit a tree; the Bridwell woman’s car hit a small tree. Hart died of severe skull and chest injuries.
The Bridwell woman and her 15-year-old daughter, Belinda, were only slightly hurt.
Hart’s death was the 19th traffic fatality recorded in Johnson County this year.
The fatal Hendricks County crash Saturday occurred about 8 p.m. on U.S. 36 at Danville, state police said.
Anderson, of Greenwood, was a passenger in a car driven by William B. Lowe, 23, Indianapolis. Lowe’s car collided head-on with a car driven by Louis Rendaci, 47, of Clinton, Ind., state police said.
Nineteen-year-old Luann Rendaci was fatally injured in the crash; Rendaci, the driver, and his wife, Rose Marie Rendaci, 41, were hospitalized in Indianapolis Methodist Hospital.
State police said Lowe’s car was eastbound on U.S. 36 at an apparent high rate of speed when the auto went off the roadway and then veered back onto the highway and collided with the Rendaci family car.
