RITES HELD FOR CRASH VICTIMS

Funeral Services Held for All Six
Killed by Train at Edinburg

Edinburg, Jan. 2, 1945 — All of the six victims of the train-automobile wreck of last Wednesday night in which Mr. and Mrs. Howard T. Hill and their two daughters, Ellen and Virginia, and two friends, Annette Hardin and Melba Talbert, were instantly killed at the Naomi Street crossing of the Pennsylvania Railroad, have been buried.

Rites were held Saturday afternoon for the Hill family at the Vandivier Chapel in Franklin. The Rev. A. H. Keeney of the local church conducted the service. Hundreds of relatives and friends called at the funeral home where the bodies were taken and hundreds of telegrams and messages of sympathy were received at the home here on Main Cross street, which has been held open with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Drybread in charge. Burial was made in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

The Rev. Keeney conducted rites Sunday afternoon for Miss Hardin at the Edinburg Presbyterian Church, which was filled to capacity and many turned away. Burial was made at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Melba Jean Talbert, 19, at the Christian Church. The Rev. Ray Bozell, assisted by the Rev. C. T. Herold, paster of the church, were in charge and burial was made at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Service men from Camp Atterbury, where the deceased were employed for several months, served as pallbearers.
