Gusta Mae Hants
Gusta Mae Hants, 95, died Wednesday, June 25,
1997, at Records Autumn Care Center in Franklin.
She was a resident of Franklin and a former resident
of Nineveh.
She was born April 22, 1902, in Brown County.
Her parents were James R. and Alta (Walker) Brickey.
She married Robert ÒBobÓ Hants June 14, 1942, in
Nineveh. He preceded her in death April 12, 1971.
Survivors include three nieces, including Marilyn
Baker of Bargersville; and three nephews, including
Phillip Carter of Nineveh and Joe Carter of Indianapolis.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters and
three brothers.
She was a 1922 graduate of Nineveh High School.
She was a homemaker. She also was secretary for
the Johnson County Treasurer when her father was
county treasurer and served as secretary to the Nineveh
Cemetery Association for 51 years.
She was a member of Psi Iota Psi of Nineveh, Nineveh
Senior Citizens and Nineveh Christian Church. She was
a 75-year member of Nineveh Order of Eastern Star 466,
where she served as secretary for 50 years.
The Rev. Larry D. Scott will conduct a service at
2 p.m. Friday in Vandivier-Tudor Funeral home in
Franklin. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home, where an Order of Eastern Star memorial
service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Burial will be at
Nineveh Cemetery.
