Retired Farmer J. M. Hamblen Nineveh EDINBURGH -- James M. Hamblen, 91, Nineveh route 1, died at 3 a.m. today at Johnson County Hospital, Franklin. Hamblen was a retired farmer. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Parsley South Edinburgh Chapel by the Rev. Sam Harrington. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. Hamblen was born Aug. 10, 1886, in Brown County to Robert and Fannie Fox Hamblen. He married Katheryn Frye in Nashville Nov. 29, 1909 and she died Monday. He attended Brown County schools and was a member of Brown County Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Mable Asher of Needham and Edith Roth and Ruth Shaw, both of Shelbyville, and three grandchild- ren and four great-grandchildren.Columbus Republic, 20 December 1977

JAMES HAMBLEN DIES THREE DAYS AFTER WIFE James M. Hamblen, 91, R.R. 1 NIneveh, died Thursday, Dec. 15 at Johnson Co. Hospital. Services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Vandivier-Parsley, south Edinburgh Chapel. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Sam Harrington. Mr. Hamblen was born Aug. 10, 1886 at Brown Co. His parents were Robert and Fanny (Fox) Hamblen. On Nov. 29, 1909 he married Kathryn Frye at Nashville. She preceded him in death on Dec. 12, 1977. He was a member of the Church of God at Brown Co. Surviving are thee daughters, Mrs. Mabel Asher of Needham and Mrs. Edith Roth and Mrs. Ruth Shaw, both of Shelbyville; also 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.Submitted by Mark Wirey
