Edward Hamblen Dies Yesterday
  Edward Hamblen, a retired farm
implement salesman, died at 6:30
p.m. yesterday at the Masonic Home
Hospital, Franklin.
  The Reverend William Shuermann will
conduct funeral services at the
Mutz Funeral Home Tuesday at 1:30
P.M.  Burial will be at Rest Haven
Cemetery.
  Friends may call at the funeral
home after 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
  Mr. Hamblen was born in Johnson
County on October 9, 1870.  His
parents were David and Margaret
Shwehn Hamblen.
  On July 29, 1894, Mr. Hamblen
married Anna Prichard who died July
15, 1957.
  Surviving children are Mrs. Mary
Enochs, Indianapolis; Mrs. Ruth
Pruitt, Edinburg; Mrs. Doris
Carver, Hubert Hamblen and Guy
Hamblen, Indianapolis.  There are
three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
  Mr. Hamblen was a member of the
Pisgah Christian Church which was
located in the now Camp Atterbury
area.  He was a 63 years member of
the Edinburg Masonic Lodge.

Former Edinburg
Businessman, Dies

Edward Hamblen, 94, former owner and operator of the Farmer’s Supply Gas Company near Edin­burg, died Friday in the Indiana Masonic Home Hospital at 6:25 p.m.

He had been a patient of the hospital since 1962 and in failing health for several years. Mr. Hamb­len entered the Masonic Home Sept. 9, 1957, from Lodge No. 100 in Edinburg.

Funeral arrangements are not complete at this time but services will take place Tuesday in the Mutz Funeral Home in Edinburg and bur­ial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday and until time for the funeral Tuesday.

Mr. Hamblen was born Oct. 9, 1870, in Johnson County where he continued to live and attend school. His parents were the late David and Margaret Schwehn Hamblen.

He married the former Anna Pritchard, July 29, 1894, and they were the parents of two sons and three daughters. Mrs. Hamblen died in 1957. Mr. Hamblen was also a farmer and salesman during his lifetime. He was a member of the Edinburgh Christian Church.

All of the children survive and are residents of Indianapolis. The sons are Guy and Hubert Hamblen and the daughters are Mrs. Ruth Pruitt, Mrs. Mary Enochs, and Mrs. Doris Carver. There are also several grandchildren surviving.

Friday At Franklin

EDINBURG — Edward Hamblen, 94, died Friday at the Masonic home hospital at Franklin where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had lived in Edinburg and was a retired farm implement salesman.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mutz Funeral Home in Edinburg with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery. Personal may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and after 2 p.m. Monday.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Enochs and Mrs. Doris Carver, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Ruth Pruitt of Edinburg; two sons, Hubert and Guy Hamblen, both of Indianapolis, three grand­children and three great-grand­children.

Retired Farmer, 94
Edward Hamblen, 94, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Masonic Home in Franklin, where he had resided for approximately five (5) years. Mr. Hamblen was a retired farmer and farm implement salesman. He was born in Johnson County on Oct. 9, 1870, the son of David and Margaret (Schwehm) Hamblen. Mr. Hamblen was a member of the Pisgah Christian Church at Atterbury and a 63-year member of the Edinburg Masonic Lodge. On July 29, 1894, he married Anna Prichard. She preceded in death on July 15, 1957. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Mary Enochs, Mrs. Doris Carver, Hubert and Guy Hamblen, all of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Ruth Pruitt of Edinburg R.R., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mutz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Rev. William Schuerman will officiate and burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Sunday and after 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

Services set for Mr. Hamblen

EDINBURG — Funeral arrangements are being made with the Mutz Funeral Home for Edward Hamblen, former Edinburg business­man, who died at 6:25 p.m. Friday in the Masonic Home at Franklin. The service will be Tuesday.

Mr. Hamblen had operated the Farmers Supply Company at Edinburg for many years. He and his wife, the former Anna Pritchard, made application for the Masonic Home, how­ever Mrs. Hamblen died while they were waiting to be admitted. Mr. Hamblen entered the Home on September 9, 1957, through Edinburg Lodge 100. He was a member of the Christian Church in Edinburgh.

He is survived by two sons, Guy and Hubert, and three daughters, Ruth Pruitt, Mary Enochs and Doris Carver, all of Indianapolis. Also surviving are several grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Mutz funeral home in Edinburg with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Visiting hours will be after 2:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
