Harold Haines Harold K. Haines, 80, Mt. Auburn, died June 25, 2004, at his residence. The son of the late Hayden C. and Fern (Applegate) Haines, he was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Johnson County, Ind. His wife, Ruby G. (Walker) Haines, whom he married April 4, 1947, in Nashville, Ind., survives. Haines retired in 1979 from the Teamster Union 135 after 20 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked for Burnside Ready Mix Cement & American Aggregate. He was a member of the Edinburgh American Legion Post 233 for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1943 - 1950. He enjoyed going to auctions and sales. Other survivors include three sons, Harold W. and Terry L. Haines, both of Mt. Auburn, and Ricky L. Haines, Nashville, Ind.; a daughter, Judy K. Newkirk, Mt. Auburn; 13 grand- children, and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Larry E. and Jerel T. Haines; two brothers, Hayden Jr., and Robert Haines; one granddaughter, and one great-grandson, also preceded him in death. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. The Rev. Lewis Burton will officiate. Burial with military rites conducted by an Honor Guard, from the Edinburg American Legion Post 233, will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. His parents were Hayden C. and Fern (Applegate) Haines. He married Ruby G. (Walker) Haines on April 4, 1947, in Nashville. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Harold W. and Terry L. Haines, both of Mount Auburn, and Ricky L. Haines of Nashville; one daughter, Judy K. Newkirk of Mount Auburn; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry E. and Jerel T. Haines; two brothers, Hayden Haines Jr. and Robert Haines; one grand- daughter; and one great-grandson. Harold Haines, 80 June 25, 2004 The service for Harold K. Haines was 1:30 p.m. Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown. The Rev. Lewis Burton officiated. Haines, 80, Mt. Auburn, died June 25, 2004, at his residence. The musical prelude included "The Old Rugged Cross," "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Memories." Special songs during the service were "Far Side Bank of Jordan" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain." Pallbearers were Harold W. Haynes, Terry L. and Harold E., Terry L., Kelly L. Haines, and Bob Applegate. Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh with military honors by the Edinbugh American Legion Post Honor Guard.
