Death of George Griffin.
The following from the Indianapolis News, Tuesday, records the death of one well known in Franklin:
Geo. O. Griffin, age fifty-six, while sitting on the porch at this home, No. 213 Capitol avenue, north, at 8 o’clock last evening, was seized with apoplexy and expired in a few minutes. Although he had been an invalid for more than a year, he had not been complaining, and was apparently in his usual health. Mr. Griffin came here about twenty years ago from Madison, where he married a daughter of the late Michael G. Bright. He engaged in merchandising until about twelve years ago, when he retired from business. Following this he for a time held a clerkship at the Osage Indian agency. He leaves a widow and six children – William, George, Michael, Martha, Brook and Mary.
