Note: Johnson County, Indiana; Marriage Records 1851-1875 Valume 2, Compiled by Edna Bice, Franklin Indiana D. A. R. A., records on page 32 that James M. Green married Mary J. Massey on 4 Jul 1864 in Johnson County.
Samaria is an unincorporated community in Hensley Township. The US Federal Census records that James M. Green and his wife Mary J. lived there in 1870 and 1880. In the 1880 Census, Mary’s brother Nicholas Massey is living with them. Nicholas and Mary are the children of Abraham and Elizabeth Massey as recorded in the 1850 and 1860 US Federal Census for Hensley, Johnson County, Indiana.
