Gibson Services Monday
The Rev. Ira Holt conducted funeral services Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Es- kew Funeral Home for Dencil E. Gib- son, 51, of Shelby- ville who died Thu- rsday afternoon at Major Hospital in Shelbyville where he had been hospit- alized three days. Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg with military rites by the Ceremonial un- it from Camp Atter- bury. Pallbearers were Dennis Hope, Leonard, Carl and Harold Gibson, Paul and Ernest Holt. Gibson was an Army veteran of Wo- rld War II and had been employed by Detroit Steel in Morristown. He was a member of the Edinburg Am- erican Legion post 233. Gibson was born Jan 22, 1926, in Big Sandy, West Virginia, to the late Vince and Jane Louise Gibson. He married the former Nora Holt in 1945 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons, Dencil Gibson, Jr., of Muscatatuck and Dallas L. Gibson of Shelbyville; two daughters, Mary Rairdon of Green- wood and Emma Hope of Indianapolis; four brothers, Bran- ty and Donald Gib- son both of West Virginia, Carl Gib- son of Ohio and Leo- nard Gibson of New York; three step- brothers, one step- sister, a stepmoth- er, Nettie Gibson of Elkhart, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold.

EDINBURGH — Dencil E. Gibson, 51, 529 East Jackson in Shelbyville, died Thursday afternoon at Major Hospital in Shelbyville where he had been hospitalized three days
Gibson was an Army veteran of the second world war and had been employed at Detroit Steel in Morristown. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Edinburg.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Ira Holt at Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery with military rites.
Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Gibson was born Jan 22, 1926 in Big Sandy W. Va. to the late Wince and Jane Louise Gibson.
He married the former Nora Holt in 1945, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dencil Gibson Jr. of Muscatatuck and Dallas L. Gibson of Shelbyville; two daughters, Mary Rairdon of Greenwood, and Emma Hope of Indianapolis; four brothers Branty and Donald Gibson of West Virginia, Carl Gibson of Ohio and Leonard Gibson of New York; three stepbrothers, one stepsister, a stepmother, Nettie Gibson of Elkhart, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harold.
