OBITUARY.
Winson [sic] B. Garr was born in Virginia, Feb. 3, 1824. He moved from there to Kentucky, and in 1845 moved to Indiana, where he has since lived. Sept. 18th of the same year he married Sarah J. Eddy. To this union was born five children, two boys and three girls, all of whom are still living. Grandpa Garr, as we always called him, was the first one in this family to leave for the heavenly mansions. His spirit took its flight Friday morning, Dec. 9 at 4 o’clock.
For a long time he lived near Providence and united with the Christian church there about forty years ago. He lived a faithful Christian; always ready to do a kind act; speak a kind word of help in any way that would do good. Funeral services were held at the residence of Joseph Deer of Providence. His remains were laid to rest in the Bargersville cemetery.
Ben Garr, Mrs. Frank Tackett, of Banta, William B. Garr, Mrs. Eliza Caman of Indianapolis, and Miss Mary Garr, who has always lived with father and mother, were present at the funeral services, besides a number of grandchildren.
