Mrs. Almeda Galey, age 83 years, died of kidney trouble at 8:15 o’clock this morning at the home of her son, Benjamin Galey, one-half mile west of Nineveh. Mrs. Galey had been sick for some time and her death was not unexpected.
She was born December 20, 1840, in Guard County, Kentucky. She was married in 1858 to William Galey and lived in Bartholomew County for a short time. The couple later moved to Kentucky where they lived for a few years and later moved to Brown County, where they operated a farm until ten years ago when Mr. Galey died. Mrs. Galey has lived with her son, Benjamin, since the death of her husband.
She is survived by six children, Hugh and Joe of Richmond, Kentucky, Mrs. Lucy East, of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Benjamin, William, and Mrs. Bell Stillabower of Nineveh.
Funeral services will be held at the Nineveh Christian church at 10 o’clock Monday morning with the Rev. G. F. Powers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Nineveh Cemetery.
