James Fry died Saturday and was buried Sunday in the Mallow family cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Sidebottom. Mr. Fry had been sick a long time with Bright’s disease. He was a good citizen and had lived to the ripe old age of 75 years.
Note: The Johnson County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 72, referencing Book H-19, page 5, records that James W. Fry, a seventy-five-year-old white male, died 25 Nov 1899 in White River Township. His Indiana State Board of Health Certificate and Record of Death gives the additional information: James died of cystitis and uremia of two years duration. He was a farmer, born in Virginia to John Fry and an unknown wife. He was buried 26 Nov 1899 in Mallow Cemetery, undertaker Covert & Covert.
James W. Fry’s gravestone records his death date as 24 Nov 1899.
