Lee Freeman died Wednesday at his home in Dublin, of typhoid fever. The remains will be brought to Whiteland this morning and thence to the Hurricane Baptist church where funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock, conducted by Prof. C. H. Hall. Deceased was 40 years old and a son-in-law of S. W. Tilson. He leaves a wife and three children.

The 1880 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson, Indiana records twenty-one-year-old, Indiana-born blacksmith Leander Freeman and his twenty-two-year-old, Indiana-born wife Alpha Freeman.
The Wayne County Indiana WPA Death Index, 1882–1920, page 199, referencing Book H-12, page 126, records that L. W. Freeman, a thirty-nine-year-old white male, died 6 Sep 1898 in Dublin.
