OBITUARY.
Sister Anna Frances [sic], daughter of Deacon Thomas Frances and Mary Frances, was born Sept. 17, 1877. Her spirit took its flight Dec. 7, 1896.
She united with the Acton Baptist church, Nov. 22, 1891, and continued an active, faithful member of the same church till her decease and without the least doubt she is yet and every shall be a member of the great invisible church of which Christ is the head. She was patient and trustful throughout her protracted illness and at last went home “triumphant in His grace.”
Glorious was her soul’s expression
As it lingered for a while,
Beaming forth in every feature
In a sweet and trustful smile.
Like the sun when brightly setting
Paints the clouds with golden light,
So her soul with glory glowing
Left its impress — took its flight.
O, what calmness, and what brightness
In our precious Anna’s face;
Evidencing trust in Jesus,
E’en which death could not erase.
Doubtless now her soul’s with Jesus
In that lovely paradise;
Weakness there and pain are vanished
There the songs of glory rise.
While the mortal sleeps in Jesus
And the soul dwells in its home.
Haste thee loved ones, be ye ready,
When the gathering shall come.
