Mrs. Anna Fraker was killed instantly Friday morning about seven o’clock in Samaria, by the east bound passenger train on the F. F. & M. railroad.
Mrs. Fraker whose home was near the railroad had crossed the track to go to her neighbor, Mrs. Hudson Richardson, to return some flat irons she had borrowed. She then started back home across the track. Mr. Richardson noticed the approaching train and warned her not to attempt to cross. However, she started, and hesitated, as if to turn back and in so doing failed to get across. The engine struck her and her body was dragged about 20 feet before the train was stopped. When picked up it was found that she was dead. Her left arm was broken and there was a bruise on her head, otherwise, there were no marks.
Mrs. Fraker was about 73 years old. Until 10 years ago she lived at Spearsville. She is survived by her husband, Ambrose Fraker, and 8 children, William, John and Mrs. Henry Mobley of Franklin, Ed Joseph, Mrs. Lizzie White, Mrs. Mollie Stinson and Mrs. Mary Jones, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Sparks.
