Stanley Forsythe dies Monday; services set Stanley Russell Forsythe, 71, died Monday afternoon at his residence at 206 East Adams Street, Franklin. Mr. Forsythe was born July 6, 1903, in Martinsville to Charles and Bessie (Laughlin) Forsythe. He married the former Shirley Denton on Dec. 26, 1942, and she survives. Mr. Forsythe was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church at Franklin and Trafalgar Masonic Lodge. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Forsythe was a retired interior decorator. He also served as state deputy fire marshal from 1955-1960. He retired in 1970. In addition to the widow, Mr. Forsythe is survived by two sons, James Robert Forsythe of Nineveh and Charles Denton Forsythe of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Vaught of Indianapolis; three grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Helen Hall of Gosport and Mrs. Margaret Bowers of Trafalgar; a brother, James Denton of Tucson, Ariz. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin. Dr. H. Myron Kauffman will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday. A Masonic service will be conducted there at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.Submitted by Mark E. Wirey
