Uncle Jack Fetherngill [sic] is dangerously ill at the residence of Henry Barnett. His recovery is doubtful.

Uncle Jack Featheringill [sic] died on last Saturday evening after a short illness at the residence of H. C. Barnett. Mr. Featheringill [sic] was a well-known and highly respected citizen and has resided in this county since 1829, having moved here with his parents when but seven years old. The funeral occurred on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Union church south of town and was very largely attended. Services were conducted by Elder J. C. Miller, of Williamsburg.

The last will and testament of the late J. H. Featheringill [sic] has been admitted to probate. It names H. C. Barnett and John Branigin as executors.
