Esthel Fallis
Dies on Friday
Mrs. Esthel Fallis, who has been in failing health for the [sic] p.m. Friday in Janie’s Nursing Home at the age of 79 years.
She had been a resident of Johnson and Shelby County before entering the home seven years ago. She was also a member of the Second Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home with burial in the Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday and continue until time for services.
Mrs. Fallis was born March 2, 1886 in Johnson County. Her parents were the late Noah and Martha (Harding) Duckworth. She was united in marriage to John Fallis, who preceded her in death in 1951. They were married Jan. 10, 1904 and became the parents of 11 children.
Sons surviving are Carl of Shelbyville and Paul of Holland, Mich.
Surviving daughters are: Miss Frieda Fallis; Mrs. Myrtle Hall, Shelbyville; Mrs. Frances Harrison, Needham; Mrs. Ruth Weaver, Franklin; Mrs. Martha Burgan, Los Angeles; Mrs. Doris Slevin, Franklin; and Mrs. Janetta Cash, Trafalgar.
Two brothers, Emmett and Walter Duckworth, of Franklin, also survive.
