M. V. Ensley, a prominent citizen of Edinburg, died Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock of Bright’s disease. He had been ill several months and his death was not unexpected. His entire life of seventy years had been spent in Edin­burg or vicinity.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Certificate and Record of Death, Edinburg, Johnson County, page 86 records that Martin V. Ensley died at about 4 o’clock p.m. on 25 Mar 1900 at his residence in Edinburg from asthenia of about one week’s duration caused by leukemia, aged sixty-nine years. He was male, white, married and a farmer, born in Shelby County. His father’s name was Isaac H. Ensley, born in Shelby County, and his mother’s maiden name Martha Brown, born in New York State. The informant was Mrs. Selina Ensley. He was buried in Roberts Cemetery [Shelby County] on 27 Mar 1900, J. M. Breeding, undertaker.
