OBITUARY

––––––––

Daily, son of George and Melinda Dresslar was born April 3, 1838 and passed from this life in the early morning of Jan. 18, 1906, age 67 years, and 9 months and 15 days.

He grew to manhood on the old home place near Bluff Creek and received the common school education of his day. He was one of a family of nine children, and only one survives him, a sister, Mrs. Jane Byers.

He united with the M. E. church at the age of 16 and remained a member of the same.

On the fifth of June 1862, he was united in marriage to Sarah Dunn. His whole life was spent in White River township, this county, except two years they lived in town.

He was kind and sympathetic to poor fatherless children and he showed his sympathy by giving two, a boy and a girl, a home and the advantages of school.

About 16 years ago, he became afflicted with asthma and much of the time since has been a great sufferer, having become quite despondent and for more than two years almost a helpless care for the patient loving wife who ministered to all his needs in the most faithful cheerful manner.

During the last two weeks he failed rapidly and realized that the end was near. He spoke often to his friends of the home he cherished, of soon meeting his father, mother, brothers and sisters on the sunny banks of the river of life, and often lifted his weak voice in song and praise, today we trust with an unclouded mind he is joining in the new song of the heavenly choir, even praises unto our God.
