Mrs. Mary Drake, widow of Louis [sic Lewis] Drake, died Thursday night of last week at Greenwood, age seventy-seven years. She was a sister of Mrs. Irons and Wm. Applegate of this city.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Johnson County, Health Officer’s Record Number 22, page 75, records that Mary I Drake died of senility of one month’s duration, cause unknown, at about 3 a. m. on 16 Feb 1900 in Greenwood, Indiana, aged seventy-six years. She was female, white, and widowed. Her father’s name was Bartholomew Applegate and her mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Drake. Both parents were born in Pennsylvania. She was buried in Edinburg, Indiana on 18 Feb 1900, undertaker Wm. M. Carson.
