Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Josephine Dragoo, widow of the late Calvin E. Dragoo, died in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital at 10:15 o’clock Friday morning. She had been in failing health for a number of years and last Sunday her condition became critical.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home Monday morning at 10 o’clock with the Rev. John Hancock, pastor of the Community Congregational church, in charge of the services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time after 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon and until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
The daughter of the late John and Lydia Walters Coy, Mrs. Dragoo was born in Bartholomew County on October 16, 1895.
A life resident of Johnson county, Mrs. Dragoo attended the rural schools of this county.
At Franklin on Sept. 9, 1918, she became the bride of Mr. Dragoo and a son was born to them. Mr. Dragoo died on Aug. 22, 1953.
Mrs. Dragoo was a member of the Community Congregational church and as long as her health permitted, she had been active in church work.
The survivors are the son, Donald W. Dragoo, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a grandson, Stephen Wallace Dragoo; three brothers, L.B. Coy, of Whiteland; Oliver Coy, of Franklin; Hugh Coy, of Shelbyville; and a sister, Mrs. Elsie Parsley, of Franklin.
