John Dougherty dies
Wednesday at Greenwood
John “Bert” Dougherty, 90, died Wednesday morning at his residence at 147 West Main street, Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday from the J. C. Wilson Greenwood Chapel with burial in Rocklane cemetery.
Mr. Dougherty was a retired home builder who had worked in Johnson and Marion counties from 1906 to 1956. He was a member of the Woodland Baptist church in Indianapolis.
Surviving are the widow, Pearl Taylor Dougherty, and seven children. Sons include Russell, Harold and Dale Dougherty, all of Greenwood, and Raymond and Roland Dougherty, both of Indianapolis. Two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Angrick of Dugger and Mrs. Frances Jackson of Indianapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Estella Bullock of Las Vegas, also survive.
In addition, there are 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren surviving.
