Robert S. Dixon
  Robert S. Dixon, 80, died
Friday, June 14, 2002, at
Community Hospital South. He
was a resident of Greenwood.
  He was born Nov. 14, 1921, in
Martinsville. His parents were
Ernest C. and Inez (Burns)
Dixon. He married Claire M.
Louis on Feb. 14, 1947. She
survives. Other survivors
include three sons, Stephen L.
Dixon of Franklin, David M.
Dixon of Sutton, Mass., and
Gregg A. Dixon of Fairhope,
Ala.; a sister, Betty Rhoads;
and five grandchildren.
  He was a graduate of
Martinsville High School.
  He was employed for 38 years
by Farm Bureau Insurance Co.
as a vice-president of claims,
retiring in 1986.
  He was a member of Center
Grove Presbyterian Church for
14 years and Masonic Lodge 74
for 15 years.
  He was a U.S. Coast Guard
veteran of World War II.
  The Rev. Steve Oglesbee will
conduct a service at 2:30 p.m.
today at Forest Lawn Wilson
St. Pierre Funeral Home, State
Road 135 Chapel. Entombment
will be at Forest Lawn Memory
Garden in White River
Township.
  Memorial contributions may be
made to Riley Hospital for
Children.
