Chelsea O. Dinn

FRANKLIN — Chelsea O. Dinn, 80, of Franklin, a retired principal at Edinburgh Junior High School, died Saturday night at the Columbus Convalescent Center.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Stanley Bush at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home here, where persons may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery at Edinburgh.

Dinn was born Feb. 6, 1901, at Amity, the son of Albert O. and Martha Pruitt Dinn. He married Ruth Manion June 14, 1924, and she survives.

He was graduated from Franklin College and received a master’s degree from Indiana University. He taught mathe- matics and history several years at Edinburgh and retired in 1951 as principal of Edinburgh Junior High School.

He also wrote and published five family genealogies, including the Robertson, Hamilton and Manion families.

He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church; the Johnson and Washington County and Indiana Historical societies, and the Johnson County and Indiana Retired Teachers associations.

Surviving with his wife are three nephews and two nieces.
