Miss Ella Dine, aged fourteen years, died at the Orphan’s Home, at Hopewell, on the morning of April 25th, after an illness of two weeks. This little girl, with two younger sisters, was brought to the Home last September. She was a faithful scholar of the Sabbath School, always attentive, and often displayed an unusual intelligence, but it was not until her final sickness that her light shone so brightly. On her sick bed she gave her heart to Jesus, and her only desire to get well was that she might live for Him. To her pastor and those who were often with her, she expressed herself as only “watching and waiting,” and when the Master come she was ready. Amid the bright sunshine and strewing of flowers her body was laid to rest, numbered among His jewels. It is not out of place to here state that too much cannot be said in praise of the management of this Orphan’s Home. Could the good people of our county know of the loving care, the Christian instruction and the constant watchfulness that is given these homeless children, they would at all times hold up the hands and hearts of these most worthy Christian people—Mr. and Mrs. Bridges.
