Mrs. Etha Dickson, wife of Francis Dickson, died last Sunday. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. Burt her pastor, on Tuesday after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Hopewell. Mrs. Dickson, formerly Miss Brewer, was raised near Whiteland. In early life she joined the Presbyterian church. She was married to her now bereaved husband Oct. 1st, 1872 and soon after settled in Whiteland where they lived till death entered the house and removed a faithful wife, a loving mother, a good neighbor and a conscientious worker in the church. Mr. and Mrs. Dickson both belong to the Presbyterian church, in whose communion she died at the age of 40 years leaving husband, two sons and one daughter, and many friends to mourn but not without hope of meeting her in a land where sorrows and death never come.

Mrs. Dickson, wife of Frank Dickson, of Whiteland, died Sunday morning after a long illness from what is known to the medical fraternity as Addison’s disease of the kidneys. This is of rare occurrence by some and it was thought to be the only case of the kind ever met within Johnson county. Dr. J. T. Jones, of this city, who is perhaps the oldest native practicing physician in the county, says he can recall two other deaths from this disease. These were Fred Axt, son of Christian Axt, and the other a son of Charles Legan, south of town.
