Grant Devore, age thirty years, died Saturday morning at his home in the Shiloh neighborhood. His death was due to consumption. He leaves a wife and one child. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock, conducted by Rev. L. P. Marshall. Burial in the Devore cemetery.

Several from here attended the funeral of Grant Devore at Shiloh Monday.
Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Needham Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 62 records that Grant Devore died at about 8:00 o'clock a. m. on 5 May 1900 in Needham Township from tuberculosis of eight months’ duration, aged twenty-eight years, eight months and eighteen days. He was male, white, married and a farmer, born in Indiana. His father's name was George Devore and his mother's maiden name Susan Gory, both born in Indiana. The informant was W. T. Hougan [sic]. Grant was buried in Needham Township on 7 May 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
