Mrs. Joseph Deer of Union township is dangerously ill with paralysis of the brain. Her malady has taken such a turn that only by the greatest of diligence can she be prevented from doing herself bodily harm.

Rebecca Harris Deer, daughter of John and Jane Harris, was born Aug. 23, 1857. She was married to J. E. Deer August 13, 1878, died Sept. 14, 1892, aged 35 years 21 days. She leaves a husband and one daughter 10 years of age. The deceased was a member of the Christian church at Providence. The funeral occurred Thursday Sept. 15, at her home north of Union Village, conducted by Rev. J. O. Miller. Burial at the Deer family cemetery. The mother of Mrs. Deer died just five weeks since which time Mrs. Deer had been suffering from nervous prostration and gradually growing weaker. In her death the community suffers the loss of one of its most beloved members.
