A Loved One Called Home.

A dear mother in Israel has gone. Sister Pheobe [sic] DeCoursey departed this life, Sunday morning, Jan. 26, 1896. Her spirit has taken its flight with the angels that hovered around her for three days before her death. She was a true Christian mother and a kind and loving neighbor. All who knew her loved her. She had been a member of the Young’s Creek Christian church almost ever since its organization. She was 87 years of age. She was married to John DeCoursey in 1830, and was the mother of 7 children, all of whom have preceded her across the dark waters, except two sons. One aged brother is also left to mourn the loss of her departure, yet they do not mourn as those who has no hope, for almost in her very last moments, she could see the angels of the Lord hovering near to convey her spirit home.

“That, that moulders in the casket is
naught but dust,
The jewel that sparkled there, now
dwells among the just.”
