William B. Davis
William B. Davis, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin and a former resident of Edinburgh.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Johnson County. His parents were Charles and Mary (Jackson) Davis. He married Martha F. Clark on Aug. 28, 1943. She preceded him in death March 10, 1994. Survivors include a son, Tom Davis of Edinburgh; three daughters, Linda Norton of Edinburgh, Jody Long of Nineveh and Ruth Walters of Franklin; a sister, Olive Davis of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
He was a member of Sons of American Legion in Edinburgh and a former member of Franklin Liars’ Club.
He was employed in the shipping department by Allied Signal Inc. in Franklin, retiring in 1983. He was a former employee of Blue River Feeds in Edinburgh.
The Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

WILLIAM B. DAVIS, 80, Franklin, died Jan. 1. He worked in the shipping department of Allied Signal, Franklin, retiring in 1983. Previously, he worked for Blue River Feeds, Edinburgh. Mr. Davis was a member of the Edinburgh American Legion Post.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5 in Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, Edinburgh, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 4. Burial: Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh.
He was the widower of Martha F. Clark Davis.
Survivors: children Thomas Davis, Linda Norton, Jody Long, Ruth Walters; sister Olive Davis; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

EDINBURGH — William B. Davis, 80, of Franklin, formerly of Edinburgh, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Mr. Davis retired in 1983 from Allied Signal Inc. in Franklin where he worked in the shipping department. He also was a former employee of Blue River Feeds, a member of Sons of the American Legion and a former member of Franklin Liar’s Club.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
