T. M. Davis, of Samaria, died Monday of typhoid fever, aged about forty-five years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the funeral was held under the auspices of that order Wednesday afternoon.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Hensley Township, Johnson County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 170 records that Thomas M. Davis died at about 11:30 o’clock p. m. on 19 Nov 1900 in Hensley Township from atrophy of stomach and heart failure, caused by typhoid fever of four months’ duration, aged forty-five years, eight months and fifteen days, born in Jefferson County, Indiana. He was male, white, married and a farmer. His father’s name was Elijah Davis, born in Maryland and his mother’s maiden name unknown, born in North Carolina. The informant was Sam Welnight. Thomas was buried in 2nd Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on 21 Nov 1900, E. G. Barnhizer, undertaker.
