Mary Critney Services Held
Mary Frances Critney, 59, South Holland Street,
Edinburgh, died at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the emer-
gency room at Bartholomew County Hospital where
she had been taken after becoming suddenly seriously
ill at her home. She had been ill for approximately
three months. She was the wife of Robert Critney
whom she married September 9, 1938.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev.
George Eagler at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at
Eskew Funeral Home. Burial was at Rest Haven
Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Duane
Cook, Tom Coleman, Arnold Cook, Huley Wooten,
Charles Hoskinson and Goble Brockman.
Mrs. Critney was born in Johnson County May
16, 1921, the daughter of Clarence and Anna Hedger
Briddle. She had been active in community young
people's work.
Surviving with the husband are three sons,
Joseph Critney of Columbus, and James and Timothy
Critney of Edinburgh; two sisters, Betty Hubble of
Columbus and Lucy Fitch of Edinburgh; five brothers,
Donald, Hermal, Arthur and Billy Joe Briddle of
Edinburgh and James Briddle of LaMirada, California,
and three grandchildren.
