Word was received here Monday afternoon announcing the death of Mrs. J. R. Cravens at her home in Anderson. Mrs. C. had been in poor health for about a year but the immediate cause of her death was typhoid-malaria. Mrs. Cravens was a resident of Franklin from 1880 to 1892, having come with her husband, Dr. Cravens, from Madison, Indiana, in the former year.
A daughter, Mrs. J. M. Jamison, still resides in Franklin, another Mrs. Ed. Baney, until recently a resident of Franklin, now lives in Anderson, Mrs. Thomas and Louis Cravens reside at Louisville. The remains of Mrs. Cravens were brought to Franklin Tuesday at 1:40 p.m. after which services were held at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. C. W. Lee. Burial at Greenlawn.
