EDINBURG, Feb 3.—Funeral ser­v­ices will be held from the Youngs Creek Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for William David Coy, age 73, who died suddenly Saturday evening at the home of his brother, James Coy, in Edinburg. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Ray Bozzell and will be followed by burial in the Youngs Creek cemetery.

Mr. Coy had gone to the brother’s home for a visit and while there suffered a severe heart attack which resulted in the death at 7:30 o’clock Saturday evening. His death came as a great shock to members of the family and to his many friends throughout the community and county.

He was born on April 30, 1856, and was the son of William and Sarah Poe Coy, pioneer residents of Johnson county. Early in life he united with the Youngs Creek church and had retained his membership there during the succeeding years of his life. He was devoted to his son and grandchildren, his many friends and his home and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.

Surviving his death are a son Coin Coy, with whom he made his home at the farm south of Edinburg, a sister, Mrs. William Strohmeier of Franklin, and four brothers James Coy of Edinburg, and Matthew, Joseph and Johy Coy, all of Indianapolis. He is also survived by four grand­children to who he was devoted.

WILLIAM D. COY

William D. Coy, age 73, died at the home of his brother, James Coy, in Edinburg, Saturday night at 7 o’clock.

He was the son of William C. Coy and Sarah Poe Coy and was united in marriage forty three years ago to Olive Dragoo. Nine children were born to this union, eight preceding him in death. For many years he lived in the Young Creek community.

He is survived by the son, Coin Coy, south west of Edinburg, four brothers Matthew, Joseph and John Coy of Indianapolis, and James Coy, of Edinburg; one sister, Mrs. William Strohmeier, of Franklin.

He had been making his home with his son, Coin Coy, and had gone to Edinburg, Thursday, to receive med­ical treatment. While there he was taken critically ill and died Saturday.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Ray Bozell were held at the Youngs Creek Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial was made in Youngs Creek cemetery.
