Mrs. Sarah Coy, wife of William Coy, died Friday night at her home south of town. Deceased was born April 10, 1829 [sic]. A husband, five sons and two daughters survive her. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Tennessee church.

Sarah Coy, wife of Wm. Coy, was buried here Sunday afternoon. She was a much respected lady as was attested by the large concourse of people who came to pay their last tribute of respect. Sister Coy early in life embraced reli­gion, and ever remained a consistent Christian woman. She was a member of this church for nearly thirty years. She was the mother of nine children; seven with her husband survive her. She was about 67 years of age. The funeral was conducted by Brother Wm. Freeman.
